Philosophy in schools
Teacher? Student? Interested in philosophy?
The Department of Philosophy at the University of Liverpool is currently developing a range of resources and events designed to support teachers and students of philosophy in the region’s schools. Philosophy is an increasingly popular subject in secondary schools, and we are keen to encourage and promote the teaching of A-level philosophy.
For more information, please contact Dr. Gillian Howie, Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Liverpool: g.howie@liverpool.ac.uk.
Useful resources for secondary school teachers are provided by SAPERE, the Society for Advancing Philosophical Enquiry and Reflection in Education, and by the Higher Education Academy’s Subject Centre for Philosophical and Religious Studies. The British Philosophical Association provides an excellent web-based resource on its website.
