Continuing education

Short courses and adult education for the philosophically minded.

Members of the University of Liverpool’s Department of Philosophy, and affiliated staff, offer a wide range of short courses on philosophical topics. These courses are accessible to everyone, and provide a great opportunity to try philosophy for the first time, or to develop your existing knowledge.

The University of Liverpool remains one of the few universities in the North West to provide continuing and adult education courses, and we hope that you will still find much to interest and excite you in our current programme. Many Continuing Education modules offer University credit which reflects what you learn and achieve during the course. You’ll be studying alongside like-minded people, in an active learning environment where your participation is encouraged and welcomed. Credits gained for each course can be accumulated towards a University award. You may, as other Continuing Education students have done, wish to use your credits gained towards an undergraduate course. University credits are also valuable in a work situation as evidence of your personal development and commitment to study.
